In an official ceremony in Beijing on 28 February, BW Tankers signed contracts to build two new VLCCs at Bohai Shipyard. These will be the largest VLCCs ever built in China. BW will take delivery of the vessels in 2009 and 2010 |

BW Shipping Managers Pte Ltd is the new name for World-Wide Shipping Managers Pte Ltd. The renaming was formally recognized at a company ceremony on 28 November 2005. |

BW Shipping has purchased of eight panamax size product tankers for US$449m. The first vessel, BW Amazon, is expected to be delivered in July 2006. |

The BW Group is the sole corporate sponsor of the third SOS Children’s village in Nigeria. The village is in Gwagwalada, a satellite town close to the Nigerian capital Abuja. The new SOS Children’s Village was officially opened on 8 November 2007, with Her Excellency Hajiya Turai Yar’Adua, wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as the special guest of honour.
